Play Wine and Food, 1 York Street (at Sussex Drive)
Put aside ALL notions of Aunt Mimi. Discover how truly wonderful sherries are. They’re delightfully versatile, food-friendly and stupidly inexpensive.
The tasting will be led by PLAY’s resident sommelier Grayson McDiarmid and J. Phillip Nicholson, the Guild’s co-founder and first president. Phillip is a huge sherry enthusiast since his days at Oxford.
This tasting consists of a full small-plate meal showcasing a unique style of sherry at each course along the way (a pair for each of four plates, with an aperitif to start and a special surprise to end). Each dish — created by Executive Chef Michael Moffatt, Chef de Cuisine Katie Ardington and their team of culinary wizards — will be designed to bring out the best in each of these under-appreciated over-the-top Spanish gems.
Guaranteed to make new sherry fans of even the most resistant non-believers!
This event has been generously sponsored and subsidized by Phil Nicholson and Steve Beckta to help raise scholarship funds.
