Grape Stomp on September 25, 2011, is a wine-themed event that takes place during La Vendemmia and is also a fundraiser for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation:

Sakto’s Grape Stomp is an exciting 3-step team relay race designed in partnership with the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation and the Preston Street BIA to raise funds for cancer research within our community.

The event will take place on Sunday, September 25 as a featured event of the La Vendemmia celebration.

How Does it Work?

Sakto’s Grape Stomp is a timed team relay race that features a grape stomp, preparation of traditional Italian cuisine, toss pizza dough to 12” and make pasta and finish off the relay by setting the table to enjoy the fruits of your labour, one catch though, 2 of your teammates will be blindfolded! Mama Mia!

Three teams, each made up of four Stompers, will run the course at one time—up to 72 teams can participate. The team recording the fastest time will be crowned the Ultimate Grape Stompers!
