Vintages Pre-Release Tasting—2010 Bordeaux and Oregon—Have your Say!

Thursday, 24 October 2013 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Vendange Institute 440 Albert Street, Suite C108

The last Vintages release of October is listed as 2010 Bordeaux and wines from Oregon. Both regions are considered cooler climate, but specialize in different varietals. While Bordeaux has Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc for reds, Oregon is renowned for Pinot Noir. For whites, Bordeaux grows Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, while Oregon is known for the single varietals Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. Depending on the wines in the release, the plan is to include wines from both regions to contrast and compare the varietal and stylistic differences. As always, we’ll also include some other interesting wines from the release to keep you on your toes.

We encourage you to register early as all members signed up by Saturday, October 19, 2013, will be invited to suggest a few of their choices from the release. We will consider the requests as we make the final selection, particularly looking at popular items based on multiple responses along with any intriguing thematic suggestions.

The VPR is an opportunity to “try before you buy” a number of wines to be released by Vintages on the following Saturday. Taste some selected, expensive, highly reputed wines that might not cross your palate otherwise and also have the chance to discover wines offering exceptional price/quality ratios and affordable lesser-known premium quality products that are well-made bargains.
