What do Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo and Chianti have in common? All three are almost certainly the most famous names with a birthplace in Tuscany and Chianti is the focus of the Vintages March 7, 2015, release.
Based around the Sangiovese grape, Chianti is more popular than ever on a global scale and is prized as one of the worlds most elegant and food-friendly red wines. Join Guild Director Sean O’Regan to taste and learn what makes these wines work so well at the table and to discuss the best food pairings to accompany them.
The secondary feature of this Vintages release looks at some of the outstanding wines coming out of British Columbia that should find a home in your cellar.
We encourage you to register early as all members signed up by Saturday, Feb 28, 2015, will be invited to suggest a few of their choices from the release.
We will consider the requests as we make the final selection, particularly looking at popular items based on multiple responses along with any intriguing thematic suggestions.
The VPR is an opportunity to “try before you buy” a number of wines to be released by Vintages on the following Saturday. Taste some selected, expensive, highly reputed wines that might not cross your palate otherwise and also have the chance to discover wines offering exceptional price/quality ratios and affordable lesser-known premium quality products that are well-made bargains.
