Thursday, April 30, 2015 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Vendange Institute 440 Albert Street, Suite C108
The April 30, 2015, Vintage Pre-Release (VPR) tasting features wines from the May 2, 2015, release, which is listed as wines from New Zealand and next generation Germany. Wines from New Zealand run the gambit from refined and elegant Pinot Noirs to the very herbaceous Sauvignon Blancs with numerous other styles and grapes in between. No matter which wines you choose, New Zealand has become well known for the quality of its wines. The other feature of this release, next generation German wines, will focus on the up and coming new wine makers who are leading the charge on producing stylistically different wines as well as using different grapes (i.e. not all off-dry Rieslings). We will feature some wines from both these countries as well as some other hidden gems from the release. The tasting will be led by Marie-France Boudreault-Champagne.
We encourage you to register early as all members signed up by Saturday, April 25, 2015, will be invited to suggest a few of their choices. We will consider the requests as we make the final selection, particularly looking at popular items based on multiple responses along with any intriguing thematic suggestions.
The VPR is an opportunity to “try before you buy” a number of wines to be released by Vintages on the following Saturday. Taste some selected, expensive, highly reputed wines that might not cross your palate otherwise and also have the chance to discover wines offering exceptional price/quality ratios and affordable lesser-known premium quality products that are well-made bargains.
