Notice to our members, we’ve changed our approach to the summer … Let’s Celebrate! We are putting on two events this summer. On July 19, 2015, we will be having an event at the ballpark! This will allow us to pair ballpark food with wine and beer. It should be fun (and the team’s not bad either) and a departure from some of the summer events we’ve run in the past. Please hold the date for that one, we will be sending the registration out in the next week or so. Further to that we will see the return of a summer favourite, that being the Garden Party at Gay Cook’s place. This event is scheduled for the end of August. Keep an eye out for the email announcing both of these events. Both should prove to be popular and will be well attended, please sign up early to avoid missing either one of them.
It is always a challenge for the Guild Board of Directors to ensure that we provide the events, networking and education that you rely on us for, especially given such a large number of you are graduates of the Sommelier program at Algonquin College. I mention this because our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is rapidly approaching. This year, it is being held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Algonquin College.
At the AGM, we provide a look back at the year and solicit your input and support for the year ahead. The AGM is also a membership appreciation event where we will provide light refreshments after the meeting during which you have the opportunity to share thoughts and ideas with directors and other members on tastings or events that you may like to see us organize. If you are interested in attending, please register through the link in the newsletter. Even though there is no cost to members for the event, we need the registration to make sure we have refreshments for attendees. Please join us at the AGM!
We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event!
