We all love to cook; we all love to experiment with food and wine pairings. Let’s take this to the next level with an Olive Oil, Small Plates and Wine tasting with Certified Olive Oil Sommelier Tomasz Michalec.
Tomasz was certified in Florence, Italy, where he live for a few years after completing his Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts certification in Paris. A passionate learner, Tomasz also completed his Culinay Historian studies as a Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Brussels. He worked in some of the best (and Michelin rated) kitchens in Europe before settling down in Ottawa with his family. Tomasz is now a culinary instructor at the Cordon Bleu Institute in Ottawa and is a part of the Casino du Lac Leamy Culinary Team.
This tasting will feature a amazingly informative presentation on olive oil making, varietals and process. We will taste at least four olive oils and try three small plates (Panzanella, Fêves à la Toscane, Chick Pea Salad) along with some tasty wines to finish. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about olive oil from a real expert.
