What’s the secret to being a wine judge?  What do judges look for?  What makes a good wine?  How do you differentiate wines in categories and rate a wine as Gold, Silver or Bronze?  What thought and science goes into determining the best wine of a wine show?  For understanding and answers to these and many more questions why not go directly to experienced judges?

How about joining Guild President Bill Ellis and Ottawa Wine Challenge judges Tony Aspler, Rod Phillips & Zoltan Szabo this Saturday night to learn and try your hand at judging wine?  The judges will have a panel discussion with those attending and help you get an appreciation of the skills needed for judging and rating wines.  We will be tasting and rating a representative cross section of the best wines submitted to the Ottawa Wine and Food Festival this year. When the results of the Ottawa Wine Challenge are published, you can see how you did compared to the pros.

Join us in what will be both educational and a whole lot of fun.  Although it’s a last minute event, it will be well worth joining us this Saturday night!

The event will be open to members and guests on a first come first served basis, please sign up quickly to secure your spot.
