Tuscan Treasures—Cellared Wines

Thursday, February 18, 2016 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Vendange Institute 440 Albert Street, Suite C108

Tuscany is home to some of the world’s most notable wine regions, with a focus on the Sangiovese grape. This tasting will take us on a tour of Tuscany. But what makes this event even more fantastic is that the wines have been collected and cellared for several years to help enhance their characteristics. Nearly all the wines are from the 2007 to 2009 vintages.

The tasting will start off with three wines from the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano classification. This will be followed by three Chianti Classicos, including one of the first wines to meet the Gran Selezione criteria, meaning it is in the top 10 percent of the wines of this classification. We will then move on to three extraordinary Brunello de Montalcinos, all from 2007. In the final flight, you will enjoy three cellared and iconic Super Tuscans, head-to-head!

This tasting is not to be missed! Because of the expected demand, this will be a Members Only event. Be sure to renew your membership, or join the National Capital Sommelier Guild before registering.

Register early, this event will sell out.
