Tuesday, May 10, 2016 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Soif Wine Bar 88 Montcalm Street, Gatineau
Back by popular demand, the Guild is having another wine and small plates event at Soif. For those of you who missed last year’s event, it was a special evening with Veronique, who shared both her immense knowledge and passion for wine in addition to presenting many truly unique varietals. For those of you who don’t know Veronique, she came second at the World Sommelier Competition in Tokyo in 2013. She is also a Governor of the Guild. In the fall of 2014, she opened her long-awaited wine bar in the Hull sector of Gatineau where she serves a diverse selection of interesting wines and delectable small plates. Veronique not only has an amazing palate, but brings passion, excitement, and in-depth knowledge to all her tastings.
The evening will consist of four small plates and seven different wines with Veronique discussing the wine and food. Veronique searches the world to bring unique and interesting wines to her wine bar. For those that are participating in the Century Club, you will be sure to add several wines to your list. By May, both the wines and the menu will have changed, but for an idea of what the evening will offer, check out the restaurant’s website at soifbaravin.ca. Also on the website is a link to the documentary of Veronique preparing for and competing in the World Sommelier Competition. It is quite something to see her in the final round with thousands watching in the audience.
Please join the Guild for what promises to be yet another very special evening.
